2025 has been a busy year on the roads of the world. As the year comes to a close, we have 7 attempts (3 runners and 4 walkers) in various stages of their circumnavigations.
Alexander Campbell (AU) started his world walk in February 2023 from Sydney Australia. He is currently in Turkey, having crossed: Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Georgia. With over 20,000km already walked, Alexander is well advanced.
Andrea Prais (CH) started her world run in December 2024 from London. She has already run across UK, North America, South America, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, South Korea, India, and is currently crossing Europe from Istanbul. With almost 18,000km under her belt, Andrea will aim to finish her global run in 2026.
Taina Liekari (FIN) started her world walk in August 2024 from Madrid. She has walked across Spain, France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Albania, Makedonia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and is currently in Uzbekistan, at the border with Kazakhstan. Taina has already walked well over 9,000km.
Enric Luzan (SP) started his world walk from Barcelona in November 2025. He is currently in France, closing in to 800km walked.
Fred Stokes (UK) started his world run from Scotland in December 2025. He is currently still in Scotland, with 250km behind him.
Tony Mangan (IRL) our very own world runner, is now more than 40,000km into his world walk which he started in February 2016. Tony has just finished his walk across Japan, let’s see what his next move is!
*Lino Wataru (JP) has run across North America in 2023/2024, South America in 2024/2025 and Australia in 2025. With over 29,000km already run, he will start his next continent, Eurasia, in 2026. Lino is not following all the rules set out by the WRA, and therefore will not be eligible as a member. The WRA however recognises the magnitude of his global adventure.
