The World Runners Association (WRA) is pleased to announce a positive step forward in global cooperation with the Global Organization of Multi-day Ultramarathoners (GOMU).
Following a formal request from WRA, GOMU has confirmed its support for collaboration between the two organisations, recognising their complementary and non-overlapping roles. While GOMU continues to oversee multi-day competitive running, WRA remains the dedicated authority for journey-based world runs and walks.
Importantly, GOMU has stated that athletes planning global running projects — including attempts to run around the world — will be directed to WRA for guidance on rules, verification, and adjudication.
This partnership brings greater clarity for athletes, strengthens global standards, and supports the long-term integrity of endurance achievements.
